Receipts ledger cards, 1933-1961.

The Division of Control and Accounts is required to "control and make records of all payments into and out of the state treasury and each special fund and account therein" (Acts of Alabama, 112, p. 144 [1939]). These machine posted ledger cards show deposits made to the state treasury. They show the date of deposit, name of the fund, source of each deposit, amount of each deposit, and the cumulative total for the fiscal year. There is a separate card or set of cards for each revenue source and fund. Some of these records were created by the State Auditor (1875-1939) prior to these duties being transferred to the Department of Finance in 1939.
